Who is behind codigo-qr.es?
Codigo-QR.es was created by Jose Flores in Barcelona in 2026. It is an independent project: he designs the product, writes the blog guides and handles support.
Jose Flores builds digital solutions for small businesses: restaurants, shops, clinics and professionals who need to take customers from a piece of paper to a website without relying on a developer.
Codigo-qr.es grew out of that daily work. There is no agency or sales team behind it. If you write to the support address, the reply comes from the same person who decides what gets built next.
Why did we build codigo-qr.es?
Because the free generators we tried added watermarks, stopped working when the trial ended or charged to change a link that was already printed.
The most common story was a restaurant with a hundred printed menus whose QR stopped opening the menu because the generator's free trial had ended. Reprinting cost more than the tool.
That is why static QR codes here are free, have no watermark and never expire: the content lives inside the code itself and does not depend on our server. What you pay for (the Pro plan) is what actually costs us money: dynamic QR codes, analytics and advanced features.

How does the technology work?
Static QR codes are generated in your browser and the server never sees their content. Dynamic ones go through our own redirect, which counts every scan.
A static QR code carries the data written inside the code, so your browser generates it and nothing needs to be sent to a server.
A dynamic QR code stores a short address such as codigo-qr.es/r/abc123. When it is scanned, our server records the scan and redirects to the destination you set. That data is stored in Supabase (PostgreSQL with encryption at rest) on European servers. Payments are processed by Stripe: we never see or store your card details.
What do we do with your data?
We do not sell data to anyone. Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity only load if you accept cookies, and the scans of your QR codes belong to you.
To measure site usage without cookies we use Vercel Analytics. Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity load only if you accept them in the cookie notice, and you can withdraw that consent at any time from the footer.
Scan data from your dynamic QR codes is stored in our database, belongs to you and can be exported from the dashboard. The full details are in the privacy policy.
How do we write our guides and comparisons?
Every guide starts from real tests with the generator and from the official standards: ISO/IEC 18004 for QR codes and the GS1 General Specifications for barcodes.
Before publishing a size or a technical limit we check it by printing and scanning with Android phones and iPhones. Comparisons with other tools use each website's public prices on the date shown on the page.
Every page shows when it was last updated. If you spot outdated data or a mistake, write to us and we will fix it.
