QR on packaging: connect physical product to your online store
Add a QR to your product label or packaging. The customer scans and lands on the product page: reviews, instructions, available variants or warranty registration.
Why can't packaging do more than take up space?
Packaging has limited space. The full spec sheet, usage instructions, customer reviews and recycling instructions don't fit on the box. The customer who wants more information gives up or calls support.
QR connecting packaging to the website
A QR on the product label takes the customer to the full online product page: assembly instructions, usage video, verified reviews, available variants, warranty registration. If you update the website, the printed QR keeps working.
§HOW IT WORKS
How do I add a QR to my packaging?
01
Decide what URL the QR will point to: product page, PDF instructions, specific landing.
02
Generate the QR on codigo-qr.es. For packaging use static QR if the URL never changes, or dynamic if you want to be able to modify it.
03
Download as SVG vector so the printer can scale it without losing quality.
04
If the destination changes (new URL, new website), with a dynamic QR you only edit the dashboard without reprinting the packaging.
§BENEFITS
What does a store gain with QR on packaging?
- Takes the customer to verified reviews that reinforce the purchase decision in physical stores.
- Reduces support calls with video assembly or usage instructions.
- Activates warranty registration without the customer having to find the form.
- Measures how many buyers scan the packaging: real engagement rate.
- Update instructions or add languages without reprinting the box.
§FAQ
Frequently asked questions about QR in online store and packaging
- Do I need a different QR for each product reference?
- Yes if you want independent analytics or want to point to different product pages. You can generate up to 200 QR codes in batch from codigo-qr.es (Pro plan) by uploading a list of URLs. Each QR points to its specific product page.
- Does the QR need to be dynamic or static?
- It depends. If the product URL will never change, a static QR is enough and doesn't require an account. If you plan to migrate stores, change domains or add languages, the dynamic QR lets you update the destination without reprinting the packaging.
- What minimum size does the QR need on small packaging?
- For a phone to scan reliably from 15-20 cm, the QR needs at least 1.5 × 1.5 cm. On very small containers (vials, pills), make sure to use error correction level M or Q so the code is readable even if there's some imperfect printing.
