QR vCard: free digital business card

The vCard format (Virtual Contact File, .vcf extension) is an international standard for exchanging contact information. iOS and Android recognise it natively: when a QR with a vCard is scanned, the phone displays the information and asks if you want to save it in the address book.

Fields available at codigo-qr.es:
• Full name (first and last name)
• Company or organisation name
• Job title or professional role
• Phone (mobile, landline, work)
• Email (personal or professional)
• Website
• Postal address
• Social networks (LinkedIn, Twitter/X)

The vCard is generated as a static QR: the .vcf file is encoded inside the code. No server, no connection needed. The phone reads it and offers to save the contact directly.

Steps to create the QR vCard:

1. Go to /generador-codigos-qr 2. Select the 'vCard' type 3. Fill in the fields: at minimum name and phone or email 4. Optional fields (company, website, address) enrich the saved contact 5. Download in PNG for digital use or SVG for printing on cards

The QR vCard is static and free without registration. If you change your phone, email or company in the future, you need to generate a new QR and reprint the card.

To avoid reprinting in the future, use a dynamic URL QR pointing to your digital business card (vCard landing on codigo-qr.es). When your data changes, update the landing without touching the QR.

Two different tools with complementary purposes:

QR vCard:
• Saves the contact directly in the phone's address book
• Does not require internet connection for the phone to read the data
• The contact is stored in the address book with photo, phone and email ready to call or message
• If the number changes, the static QR must be reprinted

Digital business card (vCard landing):
• Is a web page that opens in the browser
• Can include links to social networks, portfolio, contact form and bio
• Can be updated without reprinting the QR (if dynamic)
• Requires a connection to be viewed

The optimal combination: a dynamic QR pointing to an updatable vCard landing. The client opens the page, sees all the content and can save the contact directly from there.

The static QR vCard has fixed data in the code. If the phone, email or job title changes, you need to generate a new QR and reprint. On a standard business card, this happens every time you change company or contact details.

Alternative with dynamic QR: 1. Create a vCard landing on codigo-qr.es with your current data 2. Create a dynamic URL QR pointing to that landing 3. Print the QR on your card 4. When your data changes, edit the landing from the panel 5. The QR on the card keeps working without reprinting

This solution combines the best of both worlds: the physical QR remains, and the content is editable. It works especially well for professionals with high-quality or large-quantity cards who do not want to reprint with every change.
